We have received a question about the SR values given in the Century's Edge Rule Book for breaking material items.  It was suggested that some of the SRs (like SR = 12 for heavy metal) were too low.  It is imperative that you read the full description of theses SRs in the rule book, especially where it talks about having to have the right "tools" to do so.  In other words, a hammer and chisel would allow you to break the stone at the SR = 12.  Where as, the narrator would probably rule that it was impossible to do so if a character was using his/her bare hands (although some groups might like to play in a more fictionalized setting where doing this is a possibility).  Some items (such as glass) might not require any tools at all to break.  Others might break with very little effort if the right tool was used (i.e. an SR isn't needed for a pair of tin-snips to cut through light metal sheeting).  Narrators should always use common sense, good judgment, and a gravity toward entertainment.  Thanks!
